Imedeen Tan OptimizerTM
All the active ingredients in Imedeen Tan Optimizer are natural and have been scientifically documented to be safe and effective. The beneficial effects of Imedeen Tan Optimizer have been demonstrated in independent scientific and clinical studies. An in-vitro study was used to show any stimulating effect of Imedeen Tan Optimizer on melanin synthesis. An in-vivo study was conducted to assess the effects of Imedeen Tan Optimizer on skin melanization levels.

In-Vitro study: A more intense color and better protection against premature skin-aging
In the in-vitro study, melanocytes, the cells that produce melanin, were isolated and cultured under standard conditions, with and without Imedeen Tan Optimizer ingredients. The effects of the ingredients were examined based on the melanocytes’ ability to deliver melanin to neighboring cells and on the total melanin content in the skin.

Imedeen Tan Optimizer ingredients stimulate production of melanin.

In-Vivo study: Improved tanning process
A placebo-controlled, double-blind study was conducted to test the efficacy of Tan Optimizer on human skin. In the study, skin color was objectively assessed using a Chromameter®. The Individual Typological Angle (ITA°) calculated from the Chromameter measurements describes skin melanization levels and skin color, and thereby the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight.

A significant difference in melanization levels was seen between the active and control groups. Melanin functions as the skin’s own protection against solar radiation and is the pigment responsible for skin color. An increased level of melanin results in a decrease in sun sensitivity and reduced redness, boosting and optimizing the tanning process.

The research showed the preparation phase to be four weeks in order to achieve the increased skin melanization levels seen in the study.

Measurement upon completion of the 12-week study showed that continuous use of Imedeen Tan Optimizer (ITO) maintains increased melanin levels.

After taking Imedeen Tan Optimizer for 30 days, sun sensitivity starts to decrease significantly.

Conclusion: A capsule for an optimal tan
The studies prove that with optimal use (one capsule a day four weeks prior to and while enjoying the sun), Imedeen Tan Optimizer improves the tanning process by stimulating the skin’s natural production of melanin. In addition, the clinical study also confirms that both sun sensitivity and initial redness are significantly reduced.
